Okay, the sun is down, and I haven't taken a picture yet today. I don't think it's going to happen, so here's one of the sunset pictures I took on Sunday. It'll probably be a long time before I see another sunset this pretty.
Edit: Ha ha, I did end up taking a picture today: http://auf.me/viewer.php?file=23560657552614675989.jpg I mostly took this to commemorate one of my giddy happy moments I get sometimes when I'm walking home from the grocery store, and start feeling a profound love for the world. I'm guessing these are usually induced by a need to eat some dinner. Oh well, I'll just sing along while I cook dinner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoAO0851FwA
Auughh. I wish I could get a sunset like this, the clouds block out everything entirely :(...I love the layering colours of the mountains and deep orange colour.
@batmats Thanks. West Seattle a little to the left of this scene was downright on fire. That's the third shot on this page: http://meowmensteen.livejournal.com/73056.html# It was so terribly cold out that night, but I wanted to stay there till all the light was gone.
The colors are stunning! I like the composition in many ways; I find the foreground a bit distracting from the mood of the upper ⅔ of the photo . . . perhaps an alternate version cropping the lower bit off? On the other hand, having the lower bit establishes a sense of foreground and where the boat might have originated. IN any case, nicely done!
