those changes surely are fascinating. I heard once of a photography exercise -- photographing the same exact scene every day for a year (don't think I could do that). This, said the author, would teach you more about light than any amount of theory or instruction.
OK, I got it: Your assignment is a portrait. It needs to be of a real human somebody, and include an element or elements that hint as to their life and personality. Have fun!
