For my Get Pushed challenge this week @mcsiegle challenged me to do an Eye of the Beholder shot involving something I use for work that's not normally thought of as photogenic. This is a new piece of puff dough going into the rollers on the sheeter. I love this thing because it can roll doughs out very evenly and thin...and quickly. It would take me all day to hand roll all the puff dough. Each piece of puff dough requires being rolled down and tri-folded six times to create all those wonderful layers people love in a puff pastry.
This picture is not something I often take a picture of. I generally tend to keep my camera put away when I doing something with a lot of flour. I had to brush my chef coat off and wash my hands before I got my camera out. On top of that, the lighting was very poor, so I slowed down the shutter speed and I think I did a pretty good job of keeping steady to create a sharp shot.
The sheeter also has a dark side. I recently got my hand sucked in between the metal rollers. It was not a fun experience.
Wow. I want one of those. I love puff pastry. Except I wouldn't want the "dark side." Ouch! I also love diagonal lines and you've got some great ones here. Mission accomplished!
