@salza challenged me to do some food photography this week, also I saw there was a challenge in the discussions to take pictures of chocolate.
The things that I found most challenging about food photography is that it has to be staged, you have to add lighting, and you have to worry about shadows. I did several shots in different spots in my kitchen working with the natural light coming in from the window and the different lights in the kitchen. Placing the plate right under a lamp did the best at eliminating most shadows. It was interesting how the natural light coming in from the window caused an ugly yellow shadow inside the rim of the plate.
