Day 337 - Another St. Paul's Wander...!

Looks OK viewed large, on black if you have time :)

I headed into London again yesterday on the central line from Ealing, got off at Liverpool Street and slowly made my way back home walking via the City, Bank of England, St. Paul's, Tate Modern, South Bank Christmas Market, Charing Cross Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, Regent Street, Oxford Street to Marble Arch for the tube home!

I ended up unintentionally going up the same alley to St. Paul's so went up to the public viewing area (it's free) at the top of One New Change shopping centre. I know it's nearly a repeat of yesterday's shot but I like it.

It's an icon.
Cricky that's a bit of a wander...

@andycoleborn A shade under 5 miles according to Google Maps. Because I am off work - last day today, back to work tomorrow :( - I feel as though I have to get some exercise and like to keep active. But running and high impact stuff I find very tedious. Walking for a few miles with my camera is always good fun! Going out for another one today but it may be a little shorter!

Not a repeat at all, Steve. I think it is neat and love long exposure shots. Despite it was not too long it looks great, you got some amazing details of this London icon. I also like that you capture someone there observing the Cathedral, gave it a very nice touch. Great job, as usual. And what a loooong walk back home, man!! lol

Didn't know this viewing area existed. Looks fabulous though so I'll definitely be visiting when I'm there next! Cheers!

@tomo87 It's free too and has too bars up there. Go see it next time you're down - give me a shout and we can go shoot together then go for a pint somewhere!

Very nice. I like the colours and the person walking out of the shot. Lovely!

I like this one a lot as well. I could not really say why, the composition of the clear, crisp light, the line of the light trail from the railings, the figure on the right... well caught. This picture also makes me feel cold :)

I see from the EXIF you shot this probably from your hands. Do you usually carry a tripod with you on these long walks?

@endrem Thank you Endre.
It was cold that day...getting colder and colder in the UK towards Christmas.
I never take the tripod out with me so this was handheld, and the Fuji X100 is great for that because it is light and you can really hold it steady for slower shutter speeds.
I have only used the tripod a few times since getting it a few years ago.
I did for these shots though because I knew I wanted longer trails - http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2013-01-13 http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2013-12-04
