Day 060, Year 4 - Norwich Cathedral by stevecameras

Day 060, Year 4 - Norwich Cathedral

After a lovely day in Norwich with two very good friends for brunch, lots of coffee and a wander, I spent a little time walking around the Cathedral for a shot.

I wanted to try and capture and daytime long exposure but it was a bit too bright, and the clouds that were in the sky were either non-existent or just not moving enough to show up. After a couple of laps around the grounds I set up my tripod and snapped a shot.

I am quite happy with the result because the original image was quite flat and the beams of light on the building itself and the house in front have been put in using CameraRaw. Not too much I might add but enough to make a dreary RAW file look OK, maybe even nice :)

3 good things:

1 - Brunch with Gemma and Mel in Norwich
2 - Good coffee at an independent coffee house in the city
3 - Dinner, drinks and good tv with my folks in front of a roaring fire
Great capture of a beautiful looking cathedral.

It's a great result. I didn't know you could add beams of light in editing. I need to work harder.

@susiangelgirl It's quite easy in CameraRaw or Lightroom. If you look on YouTube on how to use the paintbrush tools there are loads of tutorials.
