Yesterday I was working in Manchester to cover the Under 19's Champions League football match between Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach, at the academy stadium across the road from the Etihad stadium, seen here. It was a fairly simple day's work but during the second half the heaven's opened up. Luckily for the de-rig the rain stopped but just as we were driving away the weather turned, and it turned bad. Thunder, lightening and very heavy rain came down as we drove out of the city, and I must admit I am a sucker for a light show. This was awesome...!
It was so bad that the first teams match over the road at the Etihad Stadium was called off.
3 good things:
1 - Nice day's work covering the match at the academy stadium
2 - An awesome thunder and lightening show as we left the city
3 - Getting to see my brother and his wife that evening
Oh, look at that sky! Wonderful. I've only been to the Etihad stadium once..my hubby is a massive Man City fan so I bought him a tour of the stadium for our anniversary a few years ago. :)
