We took a walk through the marsh and I caught this good picture of the dogs. In front is my Jake and behind is my daughter's one year old Lab, Lacy. Lacy is so in love with Jake! He likes her but is not "in Love" like she is. To Lacy that means that they should run, race, tumble, chew, pull, roll and cuddle together All the Time! Jake isn't quite so passionate about their relationship!
I want to point out Jake's harness. It is a Gentle Leader Easy Walker and it changed our walks. Jake, like most dogs, would constantly pull on the leash until he was choking himself. Nothing would help. Then someone told me about Easy Walker and our life changed. This harness hooks in the front of his chest - not on the back like so many of them. It is fantastic! What a wonderful capture. I can feel their exuberance radiating from the picture. And I love your description of the differences in their relationship. How nice that theycan be companions.
What a great photo! I love labs, love the golden ones the best. Lacy is adorable, and Jake seems wise. It reminds me of my old man dog, Stanley, and my moms younger dog, Jordan. She does the same thing, lol, wants to play all day, while my dog would rather sleep away the days :-)

Beautiful photo and beautiful dogs. Their romance sounds typical of a teen-aged girl. Interesting note on the harness. A pinch color did the trick for us and walks, they no longer need it and walk like champs now.
We have a similar story with Maggie. She pulls like crazy on a regular leash - we got a gentle leader - it fits over her snout and the leash hooks under her chin. She still tries to pull even tho it pulls her head around, but walks are soooooo much better now. We don't have to listen to her choking herself. She's also crazy about Katie's dog, Tanner and he graciously puts up with her, but he's not 'in love' either. Love this shot of Jake and Lacy - they're beautiful dogs.

What beautiful dogs, and a beautiful marsh picture too. When we adopted our first dog last January, he was a two year old lab that had been abused and had zero training. The gentle leader changed our lives!! It was a nice way to control him on our walks without hurting him again. I'm a big fan!
