Mexican and His Burro by stownsend

Mexican and His Burro

I wasn't happy with any of my pictures today and finally settled on this as I liked it with this processing. It is from my morning walk and found in a front yard. It was still fairly dark out so the exposure was difficult. As you are seeing, many people decorate their yards with artwork.
Well spotted

@cocobella It is so hot here that everything is dried up and many plants and trees might die from the excessive heat this year. My pictures won't be very nice for a while!

It's fun in that across the country people decorate their landscape in different ways! I, personally, am taken by the cat in the background!

This kind of yard decoration makes sense in Arizona- but when you see the same thing in the front yard of a house in the Poconos it just looks so odd!! Just down the road from us one neighbor has a donkey and cart, one has "fake" chickens and the Mother Mary and another has a lighthouse!

@olivetreeann You are so right. When I lived in Mexico, I used so many Mexican decorative items - textiles and pottery. Then I moved back to the states and they just didn't go anymore. So, I don't usually buy things like that as gifts. I understand they don't work.

@Weezilou Louise, if you can think of it, I could probably find it in a yard somewhere! People buy it mostly in Mexico but sometimes they get it here and just pay a bit more. But they love it. I have a friend that has so much statuary around her pool that it almost makes me dizzy.
