2004 - Laguna Mountains, San Diego County, CA

I am joining Andy (@amfrumbiddivurd) in posting a picture a day until Christmas from my old files. I wish more of you would join in - it is fun!!

In going through my files I realized that I didn't take many pictures that year. My but I have changed! We took hikes often when we lived in California and we especially loved the Laguna Mountains. Looking east towards Arizona, this is the view. If you look west from this same spot you would see pine trees and green everywhere and in the distance the ocean.

This from Andy - The next 10 Days+ up to xmas eve I am going to add an old digital photo I took from past years.
I started 10th Dec with my best pic from 2000, then my best from 2001 etc.
Bear in mind the quality will be less and I took a lot less photos back then as they took 2mins per photo to download to my pc for a 1MP image!! But they upload quicker here!
If you want to join in tag your photos 2000-14.
Not an easy hike over that rugged terrain!

This is SO familiar to us. Love the Lagunas!! We camp at Heise County Park just this side of Julian and other campgrounds in the area -- in the Sunrise Highway area -- often. Suzie, I like your idea of posting archive shots between now and Christmas. I'm going to join you by posting my archive shots in my alternate album.

@aglennc Anita, we stilll miss our hikes in the Lagunas. Sometimes we would rent one of those little cabins by the store up there - can't recall the name of it. I don't think there was a trail we didn't hike but Sunrise was our favorite. I really hope that you will join in with the old photos. I know it will get harder with each year as I took more and more pictures each year!

Since I'm already doing 2 different challenges right now it would be tough to combine them with a third- but that might be something fun to do in January. Start the new year by looking back on an old one! Anyway- this looks almost lunar except for the height of the mountains. I think my sister-in-law lives near these. I know she's somewhat near San Diego. Good shot!
