In 2009 we went to Nova Scotia, Canada to visit our sailing friends. They took us out on a day sail around Mahone Bay. (Mahone Bay has an island for every day of the year - just some of them seem more like rocks!) I selected this picture from 2009 because this is just so "my husband"! He is a sailor through and through. We have had 2 sailboats and lived on them and traveled many miles. Even before we met, he lived on his boat in California and raised his son aboard. He is a true "boat bum" and I love this about him. We no longer have a boat and I know he misses it every day.
I am joining Andy (@amfrumbiddivurd) in posting a picture a day until Christmas from my old files.
An other 365 friend lives a part of the year at Lunenburg. She did send me a harbour pilot of Nova Scotia so I can sail those waters . I do love the schooner boat ``Bluenose II`` from Halifax . Great shot of you husband at his finest job.
@pyrrhula You must be friends with Louise who lives in Lunenburg half the year! Yes, those are the waters that we sailed for a summer. Best sailing ever!! I love the Bluenose too!!!
@stownsend Indeed , she is. Lucky you, to be able to sail those waters. I`ve been served the merchant navy for 15 years. I think she is the most beautiful (small)ship ever build .
@pyrrhula We anchored right there in Lunenburg and saw Bluenose II every day we were there. We saw it again in Maine and then later in Norfork, Virginia! She is beautiful. Of course we saw the old one, not this new one that is out there now.
@stownsend The Bluenose II is also a new one. It started with the Bluenose (1). It most be great to sail all those waters. I`ve sailed manly the North Sea and Baltic waters .
