2013 - Sunrise at Francis Marion National Forest, SC
It is getting harder and harder to select just one favorite picture each day from a year when I took a few thousand. I thought that for 2013 it would be fitting to have a sunrise on one of our favorite places. This picture was taken just before we left on our new adventure in our camper. We were saying goodbye to family and to South Carolina.
This sunrise was taken from shore at Buck Hall Campground just north of Charleston about 25 miles. The fun part of this for me is that a few years earlier we had sailed along this very spot in our sailboat and noticed the campground right on the shore of the Intra-Coastal Waterway which runs from the Chesapeake Bay all the way to south Florida. We never dreamed that someday we would have a camper and be looking at the water from shore, not from a boat.
I think that is a lesson in life - Life is never what we expect it to be. Merry Christmas!
@congaree John, we love Buck Hall so much but part of it is that it has been such an important part of our lives. Go in April and see our friend Pat who is the camp host there. (He usually goes in April - I will remember to check and let you know.) Pat is a retired professional photographer and a really cool person. Also, the picnic area is very nice with a fishing dock and boat loading ramp. I love it there!!
Amazing scenic capture stunning colour in the sunrise and great reflections. Fav
