After leaving Lunenburg we went to Mahone Bay where we were to spend about the next 4 weeks. Mahone Bay is actually a huge bay with an island for every day - 365 islands. The bay we were in was the anchorage at the town of Mahone Bay - just around the corner from Lunenburg where Louise lives. Not all evenings were as gorgeous as this one. Sometimes the wind and rain pelted us and boat would swing wildly, anchors dragging and boats bumping. But for the most part - ah, wonderful. My favorite place!
What a gogreous picture, Suzie!!! Perfect evening, indeed! The water is so crystal clear and deep blue! So far this looks like this was an amazing trip!!! I am sure that the memories are coming back to life with very picture that you upload! What a wonderful idea to start this album! In this way we can travel virtually with you and we can all get to know Louise's beautiful surroundings better ;-)
Your pictures taken from the boat are such a wonderful perspective that most tourists (or locals) won't get! While I know the kind of "yuck weather" you mention that can kick in, we've had weather that's been near perfection since we've arrived! I'm sure the last 10 days have looked just like this over Mahone Bay (about 5 miles or 8km from Lunenburg) I can only hope this will continue through the summer as most of last summer was pretty chilly.
I'm enjoying your pictures of the area so much, I'm going to hate for you to leave it! That said, I know you must have had some wonderful travels, and I look forward to seeing more! If you don't mind, I'll add this site link to my picture again (though tonight I'm going no further than my back deck :-)
Thanks, everyone for your kind comments about my picture. Mahone Bay is a magical place and the people there are wonderful. It is easy to take a pretty picture when the subject is so perfect!
