Jake at Jordanelle State Park

This is one of my favorite pictures of Jake. The summer of 2015 was his favorite summer ever just like it was mine. He ran and chased, climbed and hike all summer with with us. He was such a good dog that, if there were no other people around, he was free to run. In the summer of 2016 he was diagnosed with kidney failure and summer of 2017 he left us.

And - in case you are wondering what kind of dog he was, we never did know as we rescued him when he was around 3 and the shelter had no idea. Most people called him a yellow lab but he didn't care much for water and if you look at his face you will see more of a shepherd. With a disposition like a Golden Retriever, we decided to call him a Golden Shepherd - a new breed all his own.
A beautiful memory image of a lovely dog. You have my very deepest sympathies, maybe my recently departed LucySue is playing with him. As long as she can be in charge...

@jesika2 I bet they are having fun running again and feeling good. And yes, Jake would let her be the boss!
