This is wonderful, Ron! You're right...same-but-different! You could hardly go wrong in that light with the warm textures and coloration on St Francis. And OH, those webs! I don't believe I've ever photographed the same subject side-by-side with another photographer...though in art classes we did it all the time, of course. This really feels good to share "that classroom experience" again! (I think we'd both pass the class with these photos ;)
This is neat, getting to see two different version of this statue. The lighting in each (yours and Louise's) has variations which give each picture a different feel. For me yours has a lighthearted feeling to it with its brighter colors, both on the statue and the bokeh. L's is more serious with its darker greens. I hardly noticed the crack in L's pic but it was very evident in yours. The spiderweb shows up different too. I wonder if you took your picture first and the spider built a little more before L took hers. Anyway, I envy the both of you for getting to meet up and enjoy a photo session together. Do we get to see the pic of the old chest you took while kneeling in the road???
@Weezilou Agreed Louise! It's a real eye opener to see how differently two different people can capture the same subject. Hope we can do that again. Even the followers seem to get a kick out of it! Maybe we'll start a trend!
@simta Спасибо Татьяна. Это очень весело место для фотографии. Вам понравится это очень много с глаз для интересных предметов. Не так много животных хотя - за исключением пауков я думаю.
@lyndemc It certainly is interesting to see how differently two different photos can end up being. Love your critique - as usual, things I was never conscious of get brought out and help me learn. Thanks! And, yes, by now you are aware that my subject when being spied upon has now been uploaded. I love that you snuck onto your computer to check for it. Bad Denise!!
@stray_shooter If you're up for it, we will definitely do that again! I believe we have a couple of other "locals" who'd like to join in. With the wealth of possibilities, just in that town and immediate area, we could photograph it all day and overlook some good possibilities, I'm sure! Stay in touch!
