Birds of Paradise Closing In

Sometimes known as the Crane Flower or Crane Lily, the formal name is Strelitzia reginae. I knew none of this until five minutes ago when I looked it up on Wikipedia. They surround my office and I think they are multiplying.

@gigiflower @terryliv @jin1x Thank You for the comments. We have tons of these flowers all over Southern California. Cheap and easy - kind of like me. ;-)

@simta Я думаю, что количество цветов для увеличения вызвало необычно теплая погода. Они здесь повсюду.

@pcoulson It's actually a little intimidating, Peter! They are pretty, but they're growing like weeds. Of course, they're prettier than weeds, I guess. Fun and easy to photograph though.

It really does look like their congregating with intent do something powerful, like take over. Lucky for them they're so pretty or they'd like be mowed down.
