Los Rios Mailboxes

The mail man in San Juan Capistrano has a little more interesting route than those in the new developments.
When we passed this area on the train, I knew I had to get back there! This is fabulous...and I love that the mailboxes didn't come from Home Depot!

Very colourful and detailed image, interesting subject Ron, (is the green box for small talk and the house for the bills?)

@pcoulson Good one... "small talk". LOL!

I'd have sparrows building a nest if I were using an open-front mailbox. Los Rios must have better behaved birds.

@Weezilou I don't think a single thing on this lane comes from Hope Depot! Unless there's a 200 year old Home Depot somewhere. Restoration Hardware - now that might be a different story.

@pcoulson As Denise said, good one Peter! I guess in looking at it closer, I think it's actually a bird house. The image scribbled onto the front is the San Juan Capistrano Mission, which is just a block away. Thanks for the comment.

@gilbertwood Thanks Denise and......

@lyndemc Thanks Denise!!! I can say with authority that the birds do not behave any better. Recall that this is the home of the swallows, whose return occurred about three weeks prior. They're somewhat like bats the way they fly around darting back and forth. They do, however, nest under eaves and overhangs. And my porch. Damn these protected species.
