Play Time

I actually shot this a year ago, but not sure why I sat on it for so long. This was brother and sister cheetahs enjoying their first day outside at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Full confession - they were each on a leash, but I magically made those go away. It pops nicely on black.
They do seem to be enjoying their frolic in the grass.

Very nice photo. I'm glad you shared. It almost might have made for a cooler (or more surreal) photo to see two wild cats relaxing with their leashes on. But you did an excellent job making their leashes disappear. I'm wondering if you also bumped up the clarity or sharpness just a little, as well. The black lines on their faces look almost painted on. Perhaps, just because they're so young. Or I've just not seen enough cheetahs up close.

@mbrutus Nope, those black lines are real. They're beautiful cats.

Wonderful storytelling! They are darling little ones and so cute playing together. Wise choice to remove the leashes.

Suberb detail, composition and clever editing Ron you would never know, the camera never lies but photographers oftern do, lol:)

@redy4et Thanks Elizabeth. Photos from the animal world seem to be all the rage these days, huh?

@taffy Thanks Taffy. I'm glad you're in agreement with doctoring the shot a bit.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. Yeah, we don't often admit to enhancing the shot much, do we? I don't know what came over me!
