i don't think that that is true, although i know a lot of girls who adore their diamonds.
i love looking at diamonds. years ago, i went to london, england and my hosts brought me to the 'tower of london' which at the time had an exhibition of the royal jewels, including the koh-i-noor diamond that decorates the crown that the past queens wore. but you couldn't linger to look at those diamonds and you couldn't even take photos. everyone just had to walk pretty slowly and just peruse the exhibits.
i love the sparkle diamonds make when light strikes them.
i was not and still am not the diamond kind of girl, although i do own a few small pieces of diamond jewellery. they are pretty and i like to wear them once in a while, but mostly i like to wear pearls. whereas diamonds are sparkly and showy, i think pearls add more elegance to a woman's features, clothes and general character.
so while i'd take the diamonds, can you throw in a pearl choker, please?
I agree with you (of course), I'm not a diamond girl. Don't own any. I'm more rubies and emeralds, I like strong colours rather than showy sparkles. You are most elegant with pearls, maybe when I grow up I will be too! Lovel photo however, sparkly indeed!
@danig - thank you, DG. i can imagine you with a tiara full of emeralds and diamonds. that would really bring out those beautiful green eyes. i gotta teach you how to do the royal wave!
@steeler - howard, i haven't had breakfast and i'm laughing my ass off on the floor reading your comment. i love your 'one-liners' they really crack me up! thank you.
@gbert204955 - thank you, gilbert. no, these aren't mine, i almost got in trouble for shooting these off a jeweller's store window. my diamonds, to get this kind of shot, i'd need a hubble telescope because they are that minute! hahahaha!
@jannkc - i get skin rash with white gold and silver just kills me. i love turquoise, too. thank you, jann.
@eddyj - rolex, eh? i'd love to have one of those, but my seiko still works just fine. thank you, eddy.
pearls adore you and i agree with all you said. i have a pair of earrings malcolm and my ring, which is actually bigger than the one i asked for - i have square hands with short fingers - not hands to display beautiful jewels upon. still a small diamond, though. love turquoise and saffires.
great shot . maybe store thought you were casing the place. More of a ruby girl myself. Glad I was born in July . Sometimes you just don't have enough fingers.
I can most definitely see you in pearls -- and I agree that they are classier and more elegant -- they suit you! I love pearls. Also love turquoise. I'm not into diamonds at all.....but this is a lovely shot of them! You captured the sparkle!
I agree- diamonds have never been my top jewel of choice. I like pearls (but don't own any), opals (don't own any of them either) and sapphires (and I don't own any of them either!!). Actually gemstones aren't on the top of my list at all. If someone said choose something- it'd probably be a cameo or eliat stone. Well, I'm rambling now- nice shiny shot!
