R

woke up to a beautiful morning glow in the sky and when i looked out the window snow was thick everywhere. partner knocked on my door telling me to dress up quickly as the snow would be melting soon. temperature was plus 1 sans wind and outside it was beautiful. the trees' branches were heavy with the white stuff that was beginning to melt and turn into slush and ice. we drove around for about an hour and a half. went to the beaches where my shots were friggin' blurry because i didn't bring my tripod and i suck taking pictures in darkness. but i have other good shots. like this one.

see the houses beyond on the right, the pristine snow and the snow/ice on the branches. at one point, i was shooting the gazebo in the middle of the park when a couple with their two dogs passed by. one of the dogs sat down right centre of the gazebo behind him. i thought i didn't catch him, but i did with the other dog in blurry motion. must find a way to post that as it was quite nice. he wouldn't leave and his masters were repeatedly calling him. he caught up with them and kept looking back, barked at me a few times and sat on the snowy ground again. i took a pic of him and waved at him and that was enough for him to run and join his company. funny dog. in any case, R is the most difficult letter to find, especially the upper case R. everywhere you can find the lower case r. i had given up on the upper case R and about to settle for the lower case r, but when i opened this photo, the R on the left caught me right away. i had to highlight it for you so you can see it properly. in fact this photo screams of a lot of letters -- y's and s's and r's and h's and even z and x. maybe use the same photo for the rest of the challenge? not!

so on a not so cold winter morning, the R came through for the challenge. ravishing, isn't it?
i love following you when you're in the midst of a challenge and i'm trying so hard to imagine what you'll come up with for the next pic ... didn't guess trees. I'll rule out snakes for tomorrow. Lovely winter scene. You were out and about very early.

@sunnygreenwood - no! no snakes! i am so terrified of snakes. in any case, i have found my S since last week. all i need do is take a picture of it tomorrow. thank you, anne.

@jannkc - thank you, jann. we're up early today, aren't we?

@pamfromcalgary - partner was 'director' today while i was shooting. "this here, this there. this that!" he wasn't planning on driving me around as he was tired, but it was so beautiful out and he got caught in the excitement of it all. :-) thank you, pam.

Really RAD R!!! I absolutely concur that R is the hardest letter to find. I wasn't even finding lower case rs to my satisfaction and then...well, you'll see it posted with all my other alphabet letters. If you read my first reply you'll see the story of how I found it.

Love your find of so MANY alphabet characters here. I was searching them all out. Not to mention that this is a gorgeous winter scene. The houses look beautiful in the background . . and would love to see the photo of that dog. He wants his "fifteen minutes of fame!"
