this is a close up of the architrave (or is it the toprail? i don't know my doors, obviously) of the bond street entrance to toronto's st. michael's hospital. in march last year, i photographed this door/entrance in full as part of my 'doors and windows' challenge (see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-03-14 ).
the brass details are made of fancy X's and i thought this is better to look at than other X's i had photographed during the last few days. today is one of those "jekyll and hyde" days, one moment it's foggy and raining, next minute it's raining and foggy :-). after lunch there was actually a point when the sun did shine through. so with a bit of tweaking in picnik (i shall miss those guys), i made the colour a lot better. 9 fancy X's for you, my friends. xtremely fancy, you say?
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann.
