album cover challenge #3 by summerfield

album cover challenge #3

some of you had inspired me to try my hand at this. i meant to post something during the second album cover challenge but i had not the slightest idea how to go about it, even after viewing ann's and livia's albums. i thought they were awesome. i'm not as creative when it comes to these things, but when i did the first two steps of the challenge, i thought, there's always a first time, and someone has got to suck big time to notice your works :-)

so my band/artist is "matilda (chicken)" apparently, according to wikipedia, the oldest chicken in the world (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matilda_(chicken) )

and the quote that i ended up with was from Hugh Elliott's 'standing room only ' weblog: "when a miracle happens, even if not to you, its nature is to naturally expand. You can almost feel the warmth on your face."

you might remember my model here. she was sophie la rue last month, this month she's 'matilda'. it's nice when you have someone who is willing to pose. i did have her 'shark' photos printed, one in large size, and she was quite excited about it. this girl has an incredible profile. and she's always smiling. best of all she has this enviable curly hair and a very engaging smile. i played with this both on picnik and ipiccy. i made 3 versions, but i like this best.

so here's matilda's new album, called "feel the warmth on your face". (too cliche, but that's the extent of my so-called artistry, i suppose.)

if anyone wishes to jump in on this challenge, here's the link to the 'rules':

This came out great! I was really disgusted with the ones that made the vote off for the last one. 4 out of 5 pretty much the same off-color sex-sells kind of stuff. Not the usual high standards of this site. Sort of turned me to trying the next one. But maybe just for my own fun...

This has a wicked '60's fell to it! Great work!

fav. if i did not know you did this for a challenge, i would think this was an actual cover. fantastic work. i am searching for the rules to this challenge, looks sooooo interesting and perhaps could kick my butt into gear?

nicely done

@olivetreeann - in this day and age, it's not surprising. i did this mainly for the benefit of you, my friends here. and yes, we're doing it for fun, and testing our 'hidden talents'. so let's keep doing our thing. you have a lot of friends who come and visit your albums, do it for them and for yourself. so let us see what you got this time, eh? c'mon! thank you, ann.

@slang - how would you know anything about the 60's when you're an 80's boy? hehe! (you are, aren't you?) thank you, sean. i appreciate that.

@catsmeowb - just wanted to try my hand at something. i'm not an artist in this sense. i did it because i got lucky i landed on two very easy prompts. i'm sure you and others can do a better take. thank you, camille.

@sarasdadandmom - thank you, terry.

i found it - thank you so much for the link. wow, this can be fun but HARD! i did a practice run to see what i would come up with and it has shaken me to my boots. but, I wrote it down, am comtemplating, and will see if i can come up with something. very stimulating. at least my brain is working on something other than 'don't touch malcolm's shoulder'
March 17th, 2012
@catsmeowb - it's a way to not touch his shoulder! :-) looking forward to your take on the challenge. thank you, camille.

i told the young lady who posed for me about it and she was quite thrilled. i think i shall get her a box of gourmet chocolates tomorrow. again, thank you all.
