old and new

it's freezing cold but the leaves are pushing for their freedom. we are expecting wet snow overnight it's not expected to last, that perhaps it would be gone by morning. i have not the slightest idea what this plant is, it looks like a rose bush. their flowers certainly look like rose flowers but develops into this ugly thingie in the winter. whatever it is, it will get stalked from now on.

the grands are here this weekend and i now have to tell them a story, plus prepare for a small birthday party for the big one tomorrow afternoon, so i will for sure be behind again on catching up with your albums, but i will get there.
