"sail on, silver girl, sail on by
your time has come to shine
all your dreams are on their way
see how they shine..."
- paul simon, bridge over troubled water
i feel for those athletes, whether canadians, americans or from another country, who come into the games being the favourite to win; they trained hard for so long, sacrificed too much, and then come up short, or get into an accident on the floor. sometimes you cannot fight fate, what's in store for us will happen no matter what. sometimes even personal best is good enough. as long as you play clean, a clear conscience is as good as a medal.

i love lockets and i always wished our family had one to pass on to the eldest girl (haha, that would be me). but whatever my mother had when we were young, she probably had sold it to pay for school tuition for us or to pay for medicine or hospitalization. i have two that i have acquired over the years, the 2-inch diameter antique-ish round silver locket and a smaller oblong locket that was given to me by my sister in law. my skin has a reaction to silver so i cannot wear them, and now, they have served some purpose at last!
thank you for your views and kind comments; i sincerely appreciate them.
i love this shot, Vikki. love how you composed it, love what you had to say, the song you included with your post - just everything about it. so sorry you can't wear these. fav'd it - so lovely.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. easy to miss a post. sometimes someone tries to upload to catch up on their own albums and the other posts get caught in the middle or get shuffled to the back of the line. not to worry, though. i am in the same predicament as you are in trying to catch up and i wonder, too, how i've missed some people's shots.
lockets are so sentimental and romantic! I have one I was given as a child.....! And I love the song -- knew immediately what it was by the first line -- goes way back into my memory bank! Lovely shot!
