the white trillium is the official flower emblem of the province of ontario under an act which came into effect in 1937.
ontarians have this common belief that it is illegal to pick, cut down, pull up, injure or destroy the plant known in Latin as the trillium grandiflorum. it is and it is not. they are protected only on property owned by conservation authorities and provincial parks. if it is on your property, you are expected to conserve it, but if you have to do renovations on that part of your property then it is not illegal to destroy, etc. the pretty trillium, or simply to use them for a bouquet at home.
sooooo....i had to dig in my winter suitcases for my banana yellow scarf, which reminded me that if i would need any colour stuff, i have a suitcase full of pashmina scarves. yes, just scarves. in different colours depicted in the crayola carousel. well, not quite all colours. like, how many scarves can one small person have? owning too many scarves should be made illegal.
this tiny pin (about the size of my thumb's nail) is one of the stuff of partner's mother that i rescued from the garbage can. the woman must be smiling from heaven.
thank you, ladies and gents, for your visits and comments; know that i appreciate them muchly.
@karenann - thank you, KA. i could only rescue the small things. the bigger ones, partner would see them back in the house and he'd put them back in the bins.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. to mother's family, this little pin as well as other small items, mean nothing to them. i'm glad that i'm finding a use for those stuff i rescued, even if it's just for photographing.
@cscecil - hahahaha! scarf jail. that's funny. i have half a closet full of scarves and a few scattered about the whole apartment. heavens! we are in trouble, you and i, with the scarf police! thank you, CS.
