"A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
The green leaves of summer
Are calling me home "
Twas so good to be young then
In the season of plenty
When the catfish were jumping
As high as the sky"
- theme from the film "The Alamo" (1960)
(Paul Francis Webster / Dimitri Tiomkin)
pretty soon the leaves will change their colours and fall off the trees. then the cold winds will blow, and then afterwards the snow. then i will miss the green leaves of the trees against the beautiful blue skies; the green grass under my feet at the park. although i look forward to the cold-ish weather, i will miss the warm summer nights when i can go out and take photos and not be burdened by heavy coats.
i have completely forgot what it was we needed to do for this final week of awesome august. it was also grey and raining most of the day today so no chance for a photo opp, so this is a shot from yesterday.
You hit the challenge nail on the head. This week's shots are things we love/will miss, OR things we do not love/will not miss of the current season and the season we are about to enter. For some, it's summer, for others it's winter. So there you go- you did fine! And with a very pretty shot too.
You have really summed up the nostalgia of summer on just to enter Autumn. Yes, summer is freedom isn't it, and photography certainly becomes more challenging when it is bitingly cold, windy and raining (although they all make for good shots!) Well done on your challenge shot, I think these last few days will be a time for reflection and fun!
You are so on-target with the challenge of what you (and I) will miss of summer. I love your poetry, song lyrics, etc. that you put with your photos. You are very talented.
