partner and i brought my niece, our techie, to the races. she and partner love to talk sports, especially the dreadful hockey and that pesky football. she also knows the betting system so that relieves me of listening to partner about his bets. more importantly, 'though, niece loves a good buffet, and the jockey club just happens to have one of the best buffet in the city. of course, i had to come, for i, too, love a good buffet, and the jockey club's bread pudding is to die for!
so while the two of them talk about the forthcoming NFL season (if you can believe it, they even have charts and stats from last year - seriously, those two are nuts, and one is related to me!), i decide to do the 30-second game and i go around the club premises to take photos, and nothing is more interesting to photograph in this place than the horses. never mind those people. i go over to the paddock walk where the horses for the next race meet their jockeys. the trainer and the groom escort the horse from the paddock to the paddock walk where the jockey waits. this is race 4's horse number 8. the jockey is talking to the horse owner on the right edge of the photo.
this is the last day for the 30-second game. tomorrow and for the rest of august, our challenge is to...oh heck, i forgot, but i'm sure i'll remember it at some point. :-)
thank you for your precious visits and kind comments, my friends; know that i do appreciate them sincerely.
@lesip - thank you, leslie.
