soon there will be just the dried branches, the bare twigs, and the colour of death, grey; just the remnants of what had been vivid-coloured summer.
i will miss
the flowering bushes by the side of the road,
the oriental callas proudly standing tall against the blue sky,
the green ivy delicately clutching the coarse brick walls of buildings,
the calming whisper of the willow tree as its leaves sway with the soothing song of the breeze.
but i won't miss the pollen that makes me sneeze, nor the smell of garbage on the side of the road.
Yes, you're right... and the flowering hedgerows and wild flowers too, they have been really abundant this year. I suppose we can look forward to the rich oranges/yellows and reds of autumn... but still not the same. Nice perspective here!
What a great POV and Composition. Your words are so true. Thank goodness for autumn before the dead of winter....these flowers look like they are watching something...
such a beautiful shot, great composition, that vivid pink against the vibrant blue sky is fantastic. your narrative reads like a poem. wonderful post. fav.
@jackie8 - thank you, jackie. i am not aversed to the colour of autumn, in fact i look forward to them. good for our hobby. i think as i'm getting older my body is rejecting the old. i used to love the cold weather!
@jannkc - they are in large planters; the businesses around the main routes pay for them and the city for their upkeep.
@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. been writing lately, they're remnants :-)
@sarasdadandmom - thank you, terry.
