mt. blanc, that's what this is called and available only in individual serving. it is (or was) made of layers of white and dark chocolate mousse on a thin cake base, with diced william pear soaked in liquor. one is not enough; two, uh, uhm... well...three, yeah, you can have the rest of it. not! but seriously i could have eaten three but partner ate the third one, the nerve of him. tee-hee!
it is so rich, it's just fit for the kings or pharaohs, fitting with its pyramid shape, with dark chocolate drippings forming diamond shapes; it's a sweet one for this week's theme.
@espyetta - i suppose because the mt. negro is no longer politically correct. they could've named it mt. noir but then they have another cake made of dark chocolate called 'prince noir', so i guess mt. noir is not possible. i just ate two. thank you, MB.
@summerfield So the spanish word "negro" is now verboten? I guess I can see that....but still... I am sure they tasted wonderful..." a dessert by any other name would still taste as sweet!"
@espyetta - i don't know how it is in your state in particular or the US in general. but around here where i am, you cannot even joke about anything anymore, unless you're in your home. there was one time, a group of middle aged dudes were talking on the train and the N (the real word, not the bad slang) word came up. whoa! the collective heads that turned towards them was so palpable, and there were some black people whose heads sort of straightened up. but the word came about as part of a conversation being related. good thing one of the dudes was sorta half-black. whoa! giant bee outside my living room window on the nettle plant. got to go!
Gorgeous shot and you sound like you enjoyed it; maybe a little to sweet for me; I am one of those annoying people who can take or leave chocolate, although himself loves it, so he like to share with me - more for him! ;0)
@henrir - three doors down from my apartment building, there's a french patisserie where i buy these little yummy cakes. to die for! thank you, henri.
@annaruth - thank you, anna.
@bkbinthecity - i knew you'd want some. bring melody to toronto and we'll sit in the patisserie for a whole day! thank you, brian.
@tanja_1211 - well, i hope you're not on a diet, tanja, because one is just not enough. hehe. thank you, tanja.
@alia_801 - it is incredibly and deliciously tasty. thank you, alia.
mmmm, delicious photo
