today was a rainy day and i couldn't go outside. because grandmere summerfield had to go to work, she asked monsieur leapin to babysit (maybe cowsit?) me at home.
well, it was fun being with monsieur leapin. first, he can speak french so i was able to practice my french with him. i think he was impressed with me. but he said he wanted to be able to speak good english so in the afternoon, we spoke a lot of english.
next he knows a lot of interesting stories about grandmere summerfield. while we were playing, a beautiful envelope arrived. it was from belgium. monsieur leapin then told me that when she was young, grandmere almost became a lawyer but she fell in love with a very handsome prince from belgium who spoke many language. he wanted to open grandmere's letter but i told him that that is not a very good idea and grandmere might get upset.
i also found out that grandmere was voted best actress in college when she played "portia" in "the merchant of venice". wow! i didn't know grandmere was into shakespeare. that explains that big, heavy tome in goldish case in the little bookcase in her bedroom.
when grandmere arrived in the afternoon, she was glad that monsieur leapin and i had become friends. i asked her if she could take a photo of me with monsieur leapin so we can send it to darren. monsieur leapin said he and darren used to play a lot, too.
by the way, grandmere wishes to thank everyone who voted for her photo in the artist challenge. tomorrow, i have to help her choose the artist for the next challenge.
goodnight, everyone!
love,
little wahoo.
p.s. grandmere and i thank you for your kind visits and comments. we like that a lot!
note: i almost became a lawyer back in the old country, but i started to travel so i didn't finish. i fell in love with a belgian, but he's not a prince (well, he was my prince at the time :-D) and it was a few years after law school. i was best actress in college but in another play. two years later in my senior year i played portia in the MOV play. thank you, ladies.
