table lamp

man-made treasure #1

corollary to my post yesterday about light, here's a shot of a table lamp my sister gave me so many Christmases ago.

we should be thankful for the people who invented lamps. you would agree with me that it is one of the better things mankind has produced. well, sort of, in a way. imagine the excitement of our long ago ancestors when they discovered the fire - now they can see at night, see the enemy, see their friends or see danger and avoid them or at least have a chance to defend themselves. but how to carry that fire, or the light of that fire from one place to the other? so then they disovered the torch. and millions of years later on, some bright person harnessed the light and managed to seal it inside a piece of glass. brilliant, isn't it (pun intended)!

it's late, i'm tired, i'm sleepy and groggy. i have nothing more witty to write. i shall retire right now and will be back here tomorrow.
LOL,,, you were tired . LOL... I do like those old lamps, you can tilt the shade any way you one
