would you believe us apartment dwellers have silver tea service? well, it's not really ours, the set belonged to partner's mother and partner is keeping it for sentimental purpose. it belonged originally to his maternal grandmother whose family was one of the well-to-do families in southwestern ontario, third generation immigrants from scotland.
i'm not a fan of silver. i don't own any silver jewellery as my skin gets a reaction from it. i also don't like the taste of tea when served from a silver pot, i prefer porcelain, thank you very much.
my get pushed partner this week is paul @salemslot and his push for me is to photograph my interpretation of English tea. it's funny because partner and i have been going through our stuff to see which we should be keeping and which we can live without. the silver tea service is at least having a reprieve for now.
It looks like a lighthouse runs through the middle of your teapot. I think it must be the internal workings though it does carry the familiar shape of a lighthouse, at least that is what I think. I do very much like the arrangement here and the reflections and that little tea ball thingy with the tea pieces in it makes a nice touch
@roth - i've been pulling my hair as to what to do with those reflections. i've managed to clone out myself and the camera and after it was posted, i see all the clutter reflected on it. aargh! thank you, sue.
I would not want tea out of a silver pot either, but they sure do look pretty when nicely polished. My only disappointment with this shot is that you are not in the reflection (hehe!).
@summerfield OOOH yes i love jam an cream,we had the best clotted cream out on a visit to Cornwall, they even have clotted cream ice cream out there.......now you've set my tummy rumbling
Hi Vicki, so this shot inspired me to have a go at a coffee pot shot I had in my head. I did the shot today, not sure when I'll post it but I will tag you when I do. It is not brilliant - coffee pot too small but I will have another go:)) Enjoy your weekend
