here's a jonquil flower with a 'white' centre, white as in creamy white. the cream colour is actually a light yellow mixed with a lot of white so that it is neither yellow nor white. this flower is a perfect example.
tired of my usual haunts in downtown toronto and not in the mood to try and discover @northy 's hunting grounds, i took the subway up to the allen gardens to check out what flowers are on display. they have mainly easter lilies which i think are so cliché, so i stalked the small plot with the jonquils and white daisies.
the problem with going to the gardens is that some of the plants are so far away to the back and you can't get a decent shot or you risk hurting the nearby plants. also, you have no control over the lighting so you make do with what they offer. add the fact that they don't permit tripods.
thank you for your kind views and comments; they are much appreciated. i'm almost caught up with my own postings, then i can start catching up with yours again. cheers!
@pandorasecho - i can't smell them or my sinus would react badly. i know i don't like the smell of its sister plant, the daffodils which smell like cat's pee. thank you, dixie.
Lovely bloom. I don't understand why they don't allow tripods. Do they think you're going to take your shots, put them on a calendar and become a millionaire or something?
