until last sunday when partner and i picked up the grands, we haven't seen them for almost a year. they were quite happy and excited to see us, too. after we had breakfast, they chose to come to the apartment and 'hang around' before going for a late lunch and getting the bigger boy's birthday present.
on the drive to the apartment, little darren asked to borrow a pen and asked if have a piece of paper. now, i always carry a little pocket-sized notebook in my camera bag and there wasn't any other type of paper around in the car so i gave it to him. first he wrote 'hi Lola" and showed it to me. i commented that he had a very nice handwriting. he mentioned that he's learning how to write in cursive letters. then he wrote some more and handed back the notebook to me and the pen. i noticed he seemed like in tears and when i looked at the notebook, he had written "i love you" and he signed his name. so i told him i love him, too, and gushed at his beautiful handwriting.
i had planned this as my 'white' post for today and to shoot this with all kinds of bells and whistles because this is very special to me and i wanted this to look good when i shared it with you. but i didn't want the trimming and set up to take away from how special this little missive is so i thought it best to present it to you the way little darren presented it to me.
I love the choice of white.. and such sweet memories to gather.. we all have to collect memories with our loved ones.. but always forget it in the hustle bustle of life.. have a nice week end.. Vikki..
@inertie - i agree. and apparently, this little boy and his big brother had been thinking about me constantly all through the past several months and were just ecstatic to see me again. thank you, pinar.
I'm so glad to see you got a visit- and such a special note! I have to agree that the simple presentation is perfect for the significance and sentiment. Too many doo-dads and processing tricks would take away from the sentimental value and the beauty of such a sweet note.
@eniaral - it is! thank you, laraine.
