university avenue, the main downtown thoroughfare, was closed this morning until early afternoon for the activities commemorating the war of 1812/13. so i was out there wandering in the middle of the street and amusing myself and taking photos of the parade.
i found this in front of the ritz-carlton hotel and the security person chatted me up about photography.
it was a pleasant day today - it's what we call "queen's day" but the queen wasn't around, only her husband prince philip. i also got a photo of the lt. governor of ontario (the queen's rep provincially) as i got myself mixed up with the media people (entirely not my fault), which made the other non-media camera-toting folks get in on the act until security realized they made a mistake and we the common folks were removed promptly. but not after i got a few photos.
You are so cheeky! Mixing with the media! I think I recall that has happened to you before...or am I wrong? Do they remember a certain battle of this war or what? The tulips are such a pretty shade of pale pink! Nice shot to remember the day! I got a pic of an ant in my salt shaker (discovered when I got up t the lake house today) to remember mine.....hmmm...
@espyetta - i got mixed up with the media quite a few times and then of course i was actually 'media' when i was still doing the radio show (the station's closed now). i see dead ants on my bathroom window sill the last two weekends that i've cleaned. thank you, MB.
Where are those 365 badges that Terry makes when you need them? lol I can easily see you acting like a pro and hanging out with them! Lovely pink- but can't wait to see the paparatizzi (not sure how to spell that and too lazy to get the dictionary) pictures!
i think what i'm going to do is volunteer as photographer/writer/reporter at one of the local newspapers and then i can get a media badge. maybe. sure. why not?
