thought i'd showcase the different coloured irises that i've found around my neighbourhood. last year i saw a lovely pink variety and a blood red, but i've scoured the usual places and there are no signs of those colours so i must've seen them in one of our travels elsewhere. but their blooming is quite erratic - three blocks east of our building, the irises are on their way out, while two streets west the buds are just starting to bloom. the experienced gardeners i've talked to have mentioned that the weather had been quite weird, more so from last year. but for my photographic purposes, it's just fine with me; it means i will have more flowers to come back to as the summer wears on.

Great collage! I had an iris bloom in the most beautiful peach color one year- never to return to that color again. Who knows why. Bees and pollen maybe?
