as i was taking photos of the sunset this evening, my cellphone rang. it was my young friend ada. she told me that while making a left turn on a busy intersection going home today, the brake of her car suddenly gave. she had the foresight to use her emergency brake when she realized the car wasn't stopping at all. i was still snapping photos of the sunset after we finished talking, when i realized i was crying. i was crying at the thought of almost losing a very good friend, but at the same time, i was thanking God, the one who makes this view possible everyday, that my friend got out of that ordeal safely.
