we passed by a house located on a corner lot which was surrounded by sunflowers. it's a bungalow and from across the street you almost couldn't see the rooftop because of the tall sunflowers. it had a back garden which had, you guessed it, more sunflowers. it was incredible.
there was a woman who was pulling one of the plants and when it wouldn't budge, she went back to her car and got a pair of pruners and just cut off a big plant. she was quite surprised when she turned around and saw me, she looked at my camera and she hurried to put the plant in the trunk of her car. i said, "what the heck!" and she said to me, "oh, it's okay, there's a lot more." i said, "did you ask the owner if you can cut their plant?" "no," she said, "she has plenty!" i couldn't believe it so i said, "that's stealing!" and she replied as she got in her car, "no, it's not, she has plenty!" and she drove away.
meanwhile, i stood there with my camera. i thought of taking her photograph, but she was holding a pair of really nasty and rusty looking pruners so i didn't dare. as it was she was already surprised to find me there.
this is the lowest of the tall sunflower plants. i'm really mad at that woman thief!
Oh my heavens! I walk around scared to just stand on the street and shoot pics of my neighbor's sunflowers by their house. And this lady feels justified to walk over there and cut off a flower! She probably would have taken more (???) if you had not been there. Not sure. What crazy reasoning too! "she has plenty" Criminals have used that line for years.
Goodness can you believe the rudeness of some people! Nice to see them growing and not in a shop though, I have seen very few this year also, actually none!
The garden must look amazing with so many sunflowers! Nice photo.
