this was taken yesterday morning when partner and i drove around the area near our building. it was sheer chaos in the city and so many areas still don't have power. so many stores are still closed and you can imagine what that means for shoppers. some stores would have fantastic numbers in their books, others would have incredible losses. some employees would be overworked, others would have lost wages.
of course those who are more affected probably won't see it, but amidst the chaos, there's still beauty to be found. these Christmas balls were a pretty sight on a cold, grey morning.
thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are truly appreciated. i'm once again behind on my commenting duties; partner and i are off to our yearly Christmas pilgrimage to niagara falls where every hotel promises free wi-fi but be damned if it ever works properly.
There is a stark beauty to this. I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas. A trip to Niagara Falls is on my bucket list. I shall look forward to seeing your pictures!
Pretty shot of ornaments and tiny icicles. I visited Niagara Falls last May for the first time. Always wanted to see them and they were spectacular. But the downtown area was a bit odd --not at all picturesque like the falls.
Ice can really make some rather common things look spectacular- but in this case it's taken the festive air up a notch as well. Great shot! Merry Christmas to you and "partner". Have safe trip and wonderful holiday!
