things we do for a shot. i had dug up my rollers especially for this. the funny thing was i actually have forgotten how to use them.
partner: you're not going to sleep with those on, are you?
me: and why not? don't you think it's sexy?
and then i launched into "if you want my body and you think i'm sexy, come on, sugar, let me know!"
partner (chuckling, more from annoyance than amusement): you used to wear your beautiful lingerie. now you even have those horrible things on your head. (and then, as if having an epiphany) you're taking a selfie in bed?!?!
me: no, darling, i'm ballroom dancing, don't you know?
partner (picking up his crossword puzzle and started heading for the door): camera! camera! camera everywhere. this hobby is getting to be ridiculous.
me: would you rather i go to the casino and play the slots?
partner: (he looked at me then sat down on the bed) so, what lens are you buying next?
@miata2u - hahaha! no, i just put them on for this shot. my hair is straight and won't curl no matter what i do. i couldn't bring myself to throw them away as they were quite expensive. but i suppose this is their last hurrah. thank you for stopping by.
Oh yes, I am laughing at your partner's thoughts...I guess our addiction and buying of camera equipment can be as costly as gambling at the slot machines. At least we get something for our money. I have not used my rollers in ages...they are those hot rollers. Ouch. I used to have hair all the way down my back. I'd spiral perm it for "body." Then blow dry it straight. Then put hot rollers in it to put a wave in it. Good lord. Those days are long gone! Love your shot!
Wow you just put a huge smile on my face Vikki. Yes it is amazing what we sometimes will do for a photo. Hmmm I wonder if Melody would let me post something like this lol
@k1w1 - thank you, my friend. i put in my long list of birthday wishes, but right at the top, the 100mm macro lens. although he's complaining about the 600 price tag. so i put in the bottom list the sigma 400mm which is slightly less than five. he only looks at the top and bottom of the list. :-)
@amandal - heavens no! i don't sleep with them on. i don't even use them. i used to when i was younger and i had my hair permed, and they were to "help" keep the perm because my hair is so unbendably straight. thank you, a, also for the fav.
I used to curl mine with a curling iron- with two little cherubs asking, "Why are you doing that to your hair Mom?" Now they have cherubs of their own. You are a brave soul- I am pretty certain I will never take a selfie with my pjs on or curlers in my hair. (o:
@mikegifford - thank you, my friend.
