@nitrogene is my get-pushed partner this week and her challenge was for me to take a black-on-black photo. i don't have anything that's totally black; why, even my hair is no longer totally black.

but i do have this little kokeshi doll; i think i might even have posted a shot of this sometime ago. i struggled with the lighting as the doll has a shiny finish and i had to try a lot of different settings to get this shot. i'm happy with this and i hope nitrogene would find this acceptable.
Very nicely done. I like the sliver of light on her right that defines her and separates her from the black background. I think you aced this challenge!
I like it a lot - that thin line of light along her back makes such a nice shape. I feel like the focus is a little bit off on her eyes - and that's where my look falls in the first place. But I think it is a beautiful subject for a black-on-black, with these pops of color through the image.
