victorian lace

when my apartment got flooded last january and i made a decision to move, i also decided to scale down my possessions. i decided to give my set of china to my young friend christine who used to be my model. she has got engaged and will be married next year. i asked her if she has a set of china and if she doesn't mind 'inheriting' a used set, albeit slightly used. i have never used all the pieces anyway so they're slightly used. it consisted of twelve settings plus the necessary accessories. she was quite happy but guilty that she was getting it for free. my reasoning is she is young and will be entertaining fairly often therefore she will have a great use for it. i couldn't think of anyone more deserving since she had always willingly indulged my photography.

besides i have another set of china, with six-place settings and accessories and above is one of the dinner plates. i decided today it's time to take them out of the box and start using them.

for the mundane challenge, the object, is plate, i.e., the plate we use for eating meals, not the plate for dentures. :-P
Such a beautiful simple image!

Well 12 places is far too much - for a party as well as the dish cleaning! Six is much better!

Very pretty edge to the plate. I agree with Maggiemae.

Nice plates and wonderful story. We found lots of people to give stuff to when we downsized. It was so nice to see young families getting excited about stuff that we were no longer going to need.
