high key? or low key? - sooc doll by summerfield

high key? or low key? - sooc doll

those are the questions.

this is little ivy's baby doll. i was shooting it on sunday morning mainly for its lilac jumpsuit. it was a sunny day so i positioned it on the window sill. but now i'm confused with the outcome. is this a low key shot, or a high key shot. i meant to do the latter, but i'm not sure this is high key.

i think it's more like a bad shot. (snort! snicker!)
Ok ,, this is a little scary

doll shots are invariably creepy... i think because they look almost human and this makes for a wierd effect in photos... love how half the face is lit and the other in darkness... excellent if unintentional effect!

I don't think I'd call it either- it looks like a shot that needed more light. For high key you'd want the doll to almost disappear into white and for low key you'd need a strong light source to put it completely in shadow with only the outline of the doll's face showing (or something to that effect). On second thought, it leans more toward low key than high key. You do have a nice semi-silhouette going on there.

Does have a creepy factor to it. Lol
Have to agree with @olivetreeann
Seems more low key then high key.
Like the idea though. Especially with the windowsill.
