george, the laundromat owner, steps out as soon as he sees me with my camera.
"hi, good morning," he says. i bring my camera down to return his greeting. "beautiful morning, isn't it?" i nod as i try to focus on the moon. "what time you coming back from work?"
i ask why. he says maybe he wants to take me out for coffee at the greek restaurant owned by his friend. "have some greek wine, some souvlaki, you know. he just opened his patio." george has been trying to ask me out, despite the fact i told him i am in a permanent relationship. however, i like the attention and preference whenever i do my laundry.
i shift the camera towards the lamp post with the decorative star, remnant of last Christmas' decorations, it glistens in the light of the morning sun.
"you know," he says as i continue to ignore him, "i can give you the moon and the stars!"
i turn my head towards him. "what?!"
"i'll give you the moon and the star, just have a date with me."
i laugh out loud and he laughs, too.
"no, thank you," i say.
"oh, come on!" he tells me.
"no, thank you, george. i got the star and the moon right here." and i show him the shot i have just taken.
i still laugh as i walk towards the train station.

for the mad minute word monday's challenge, meaning "flirtatious talk that leads nowhere."
Love that story and how fitting for your photo! I have a similar 'admirer' who comes into the gym where I work and is always pestering me, even though I'm happily married, and he knows it!!!!! Men eh?!
