"In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed
by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence"
- theme from "the graduate"; paul simon, composer
this place came as a complete surprise to me. i was walking along yonge street on my way to st. james cathedral, taking on a different route than usual. i saw the empty lane, normally i avoid places like this. thought i'd check it out anyways. i won't be wasting anymore time than i did all week at the office, doing something mundane and useless.
on the other side, there's a small courtyard with, get this, lots of people. but everyone was quiet, either reading or on their iPhones and blackberry. a few were talking but you could hardly hear them. and all over the place were planters filled with colourful flowers. hah! did i have a feast!
