get pushed #43 - flower arrangement

june milner @june is my partner this week for the get pushed challenge. she wrote that since i was going to the tulip festival she wanted me to shoot "tulips in the fashion of the old Dutch masters ..? rich colurs and interiors/stiil life /vases".

there are not a lot of tulips in the shops now although around the gardens here some tulips are just starting to bloom. so until i get my nerves and put on phantom suit and sneak through the neighbourhood plucking their nice tulips (which i doubt it will ever happen because i won't even take one step off the sidewalk when i shoot their gardens) i will make do with this arrangement that i myself made. i had a won a gift certificate last year for an arrangement with one of the flower shops near the office and since it was to expire at the end of this month, i thought i could use it for the push as well as for this month's may-flowers challenge. the lady made this up for me and i had to put them in a vase.

this is not quite the shot i wanted but it is quite late and my eyes are telling me to sleep. so did a bit of processing to make it look decent. one thing i realized is that i suck at flower arrangements. (no wonder my home eco teacher in grade school was always pinching my back - what kind of a wife are you going to be when you grow up? to which i would always answer "i'm going to have servants, if the husband can't afford servants, i'm not going to be his wife". and that my friends is why i have partner, he fills all roles - partner, husband, best friend, driver, courier, adviser, art director, photo scout, servant, sex slave...okay, he asks i remove the 'sex slave' part. no, i don't want to. :-))

ooops! where were we? ah, get pushed challenge.

thank you for your kind views and comments, my dear friends. it's friday tomorrow and i can stay up all night to comment on your albums. yay!
@june - does this meet your requirements? i imagine i could still get my hands on a bundle of tulips but until then you will have to look at this one. :-)

That 'll do very nicely thank you.
I haven't forgotten my half of the challengeand will be atrating my homework today , so i hope to get something out tonight or tomorrow.

Congratulations on winning the gift certificate , hope you didn't mind too much spending it fore me.
I feel a bit guilty . I just didn't think .. tulips are still only aboyt 33-£4 in our supernmarkets.
a good example of the varied climates 365 covers.

@june - thank you. not to worry about the gift certificate. i won it from last year during a fundraising. it was to expire at the end of may so i really needed to use it up. it's also a long weekend here and we have company for dinner on sunday so it was timely to have used it up.

Nice arrangement- better than I can do. I had a job at a florist for one day. She was showing me how to do a certain arrangement and I switched the colors around because I didn't want to do it like everyone else. It was not received well! (o:
