i call her little jeanie because of her dimunitive size, small and lean. but she's one feisty little gal and no one messes around with her. she's quite strong, too, for her size. she carries around those boxes and heavy envelopes to deliver around the office. but personally, she's a charming young lady, with her head firmly on her shoulders, very polite and respectful. and she makes cupcakes!!!
She is gorgeous, and not just her face, her smile is great and she looks like she is a very passionate person... Yes I do profiling just from faces... LOL
@redpants - i do, too, i mean about the windows. no need to say sorry. i had a version where i cloned the windows out but in my eyes it still looked the same. i need to pay attention to lighting. in the office it's just horrible. thank you, sue, much appreciated.
My opinion (for what it is worth ;-)... great model, great pose, good lighting (yes, the window in the back is a bit distracting but not too bad) so all in all a great portrait. The thing I'm not too keen on is the Photoshopping of the skin to make it look smoother.... I prefer "natural" ;-)
i don't do portraits much, so know very little... i prolly would have done something different about the windows, but they don't bother me that much... i do like the smile you caught on her, and the lovely glint in her eyes... the one thing i might fuss over if it were my shot is the shadows on the left side of her face... i think i would want to play around with either minimizing them, or making them a bit more dramatic (if you know what i mean)... but i am not sure it would be an improvement in the end - just something i'd play around with... and yeah - office lighting tends to suck!
Well, here's another county chiming in- the windows in the back are definitely a detriment. You could clone them out but I think it's really a matter of being more aware and choosing the best back drop. Office lighting is horrible for skin tone. The fluorescent lights tend to turn skin green. This too has to do with location. So if she's game to pose again, try to choose a place where you can use softer lighting or natural lighting. Lastly, as beautiful as the red of her blouse and lipstick are, this gal has perfect coloring for b/w. B/W is very gentle on the skin and with the right lighting you might not even have to use post processing that much to downplay imperfections or areas the subject wants minimized. But think Elizabeth Taylor- she had the same coloring. All in all though Jeanie is a beautiful young woman (inside and out) and it shows in this picture!
