on Saturday afternoon, after we checked in at our hotel, we set off to hunt for a good vantage view of the sunset. the sun shone brightly and we got to the bluewater bridge http://365project.org/summerfield/365-still/2013-08-10 and found some of the local youths diving from the lookout underneath the bridge. i thought i might practice my panning shots on people.
the girl on the left photo was so jealous of her best friend who had just jumped in but she didn't have her swimsuit on. nonetheless she jumped in fully clad in jeans and shirt. later on, the young lads who were eyeing the girls decided to show off their diving and jumping skills, too. the boy on the right did quite a pretty somersault and this was the best shot i had of him. i showed him this and the other shot and he was quite thrilled. he said he wanted a copy so i gave him a card with my e-mail so he can contact me. i'd have taken more pics (there were some asian tourist types who had a kick out of taking a photo of me taking photos of the kids and one also tried to take a pic of the diving lads with their point and shoot, and got so frustrated i said why not take a video instead and he did) but the wind was blowing cold and partner didn't have his jacket.
i like how the shadows of the bridge created different shades of blue with the water. that's the st. clair river separating ontario from the state of michigan then feeds beyond to lake huron (where you see the little sailboat on the left).
