among the definitions of slumgullion, a noun, is a stew of meat, vegetables, potatoes, etc., or a beverage made weak or thin, as watery tea, coffee, or the like.
this photo idea for the word just showed up during my lunch today. i had a taste for sushi and at the sushi-Q where i'm a preferred customer (i.e., i get extras like seaweed salad or edamame or a cup of hot ginger tea, because the proprietors like me - i could be likeable when i want to, you know! :-)), i sat at my usual table usurping the two customers ahead of me by putting my purse (with my dslr inside yaiks!) on the unoccupied table then i took the extra steps to the cash to pay for my purchase. as i started eating, i was about to drink my miso soup when i noticed how the miso clouded the broth as i slightly stirred it with my chopsticks. slumgullion quickly came to mind. presto! that takes care of my mad minute word posting for the week.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; i appreciate all of them.
@espyetta - sgumlullion, slugmullion, slumgullion heck, they're everywhere! see, the way that patterson book works for me is everything is a potential for a good photograph. but i will draw the line on ugly feet. hahahahahahahaa!! thank you, MB. i would like to see your slumuglion.
well, at least I now know you'll never be photographing my feet. Since I was a kid, I've had my feet called everything ~ Flintstone Feet, Caveman Feet, Hobbit Feet, and I've even been told I have toes made for flip flops... whatever that is supposed to mean. Its okay... I don't like any feet, so it doesn't bother me at all.
@jsw0109 - hahaha! don't worry, jeff. the only feet i'm wont to photograph are babie's feet and i'm not even good at it. i won't even consider my own feet as they're the ugliest feet ever! thank you, jeff.
all this talk of feet... i happen to think that my feet are one of (two of???) my best features... not that i'll ever photograph them... just sayin' ;p @jsw0109
Vikki, this works perfectly for mmw... i might have to do a cheat to get my shot for this...
@northy - i think your eyes are your best features. but then again, i've not seen your feet at all. :-) thanks, kiddo!
when are we free for lunch? i can come by the DYS. not tomorrow though, i have a meeting. last week i was at DYS i got photographed (or videotaped must've been) and a few peeps told me i was on CTV. i had a shoot out with a guy with a big muscled camera. see my photo from last tuesday. that's what i get for invading your turf! :-)
@summerfield congrats on making it to CTV! not sure i've ever been seen, altho' definitely in same vicinity as all sorts of other cameras... this week is a write-off... i'm in meetings all morning tomorrow and thursday with out of town colleagues, plus afternoon meetings plus creeping deadlines... and i'm off on friday... can't recall what next week looks like, but there's bound to be some flex there other than monday... i'll check tomorrow to see what's looking likely right now
Glad I saw this shot- I had no idea the new word had been picked! Too bad the weather has gone back to July's heat wave. A stew would have been nice last week! Good shot- but wow- you can leave your camera sitting on an unoccupied table while you pay for your food?!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki- I'm sure that's what happened. I don't remember which day it was but when I logged in it said I had 78 comments! I don't know how to retrieve them beyond the first page that shows, so my guess is that it was in that batch. I have a shot and will post it tomorrow.
