penny price @pennyp is my partner for the get pushed challenge this week and her challenge is "to take a photo with a red balloon as part of the picture. You can choose how to do it - full colour, selective colour or maybe a composite."
good thing i have grandchildren and that's one good reason to be keeping balloons in the house. and we have a bagful of red ones, how convenient is that eh? what baffles me is how the hand pump could be missing, and i'm not about to blow a balloon. good thing i also have partner who, with a bit of bribing (banana flambé for dessert after dinner) blows one for me.
dashed off to the soccer field near the don trail. i fancied placing this on the open field that's white and thick with snow and it was too late to realize that the thick snow was actually covering thick ice from last weekend's ice storm and that made the trek to the middle of the field quite problematic. and then there was the nasty wind to contend with and i wasn't about to chase a red balloon - twas enough amusement for people to see an old woman walking funny on snowy field carrying a camera and a balloon. so i wedged the darn balloon between the branches of this young oak tree, took a few shots before more people showed up as this place was also a favourite place for tobogganing. walked around the trail afterwards and took a few photos of the frozen river.
this was not the shot i planned to post but the figure standing at the back was a complete surprise and i thought it added a well placed human element. and she's probably thinking i've lost some of my nuts and bolts. tee-hee!
Love the pop of colour the balloon brings. Despite all the white stuff looking pretty I'm not sure I'd like to be out in it! Makes me cold just thinking about it
